The Whistler Learning Centre is delighted to collaborate with the Community Foundation of Whistler to bring grant writing expert, Barbara McMillan, to Whistler on December 8th to lead this workshop on writing compelling grant applications. Our thanks to the Community Foundation of Whistler for making this workshop accessible to all non-profits at $20 per person. Registration is online and open!

Progressive Grant Writing Workshop: Focus on Project Planning

Progressive Grant Writing – Focus on Project Planning will delve deep into grant proposal components, focusing on the variety of approaches funders look for to articulate project needs, goals, objectives, work plans, budgets, and evaluation strategies. Bring your project ideas, proposal drafts and questions for a working session where participants will practice applying project planning and design frameworks, including:

  • Creating compelling project rationales
  • Theory of Change, Logic Models
  • Effective use of stories, data, and research
  • Evaluation and budget planning

You’ll have the opportunity to learn from a pro in a small group setting, and take home practical tools and resources to streamline and enhance your project planning and proposal writing efforts.

Instructor:  Barbara McMillan’s extensive experience as a grantor, grantee, and instructor in grant writing provides a rich backdrop to help individuals and organizations build their capacity in grant seeking and proposal writing. Besides having assessed over 1000 grant applications, she has written many successful proposals, and has taught grant seeking for over 20 years, including the Grant and Proposal Writing Course in BCIT’s Fundraising Management Certificate Program.
