Practical Writing for Technical Scientific Reports

This online module is designed for Technicians, Managers, Biologists or Environmental Professionals who are responsible for writing within an organization. Students will be trained on the techniques used for comprehensive, yet concise, technical writing. Practical exercises using Microsoft® Word and Excel will emphasize how to: edit and format for concise writing, present data professionally and communicate complex themes.
Course Topics Include:
- Key Components of a Technical/Scientific Report
- Distinguishing between Relevant & Irrelevant Materials
- Composing Detailed, but Concise Sections
- Appropriate Formatting of Graphs & Tables
- Appropriate Citations
This Technical Writing course is offered online, as a self-paced delivery within a 3 week period.
Dates: October 7-28, 2019
Prerequisites: Grade 12 equivalency would be recommended.
