Whistler Blackcomb’s Extremely Canadian offer a range of mountain safety courses during the winter months:
Avalanche Safety Training Level 1+
2.5 Day entry-level decision-making framework for recreational skiers and snowboarders in winter backcountry avalanche terrain.
Fri/Sat/Sun Nov. 22 – April 12, $299 ($377 inc. lift pass) 5% GST is applicable
Avalanche Safety Training Level 2
Extensive practical field sessions in real avalanche terrain, implementing a systematic approach for assessing and evaluating the potential avalanche hazard.
Dec. 2-5, 7/8/14/15, 27-30, Jan. 4/5/11/12, 20-23, Feb. 1/2/8/9, 3-6, Feb. 29/Mar. 1/7/8, $599 ($755 inc. lift pass) 5% GST is applicable
Big Mountain Awareness Youth Camps
Arming 10-15 year-old advanced intermediate to expert skiers and riders with the knowledge, understanding, and attitude to make safe decisions within ski area boundaries.
Dec.30, Jan 3, Feb. 17, Mar. 16, Mar. 23, April 10, $99 ($135 inc. lift pass) 5% GST is applicable
Crevasse Rescue/Glacier Travel
Whether you are looking to develop safe travel skills or to reach new lines accessed via glaciated terrain, this is an essential course for experienced backcountry skiers and boarders in the Coast Mountains.
