MOOC: Indigenous Canada

October 23 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm PDT

We’re excited to offer another MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) in partnership with the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre (SLCC). The 8-week course is Indigenous Canada, offered by the University of Alberta. This course explores key issues facing Indigenous peoples today from a historical and critical perspective, highlighting national and local Indigenous-settler relations.

Participants will meet once a week at the SLCC for a two-hour session, where we’ll watch a video provided by the professors and then spend the remainder of the session discussing what we learned.

This course is free to attend, but space is very limited. Registration opens at 12:01 a.m. on September 1, so call us at 604-935-8435 or email publicservices@whistlerlibrary.ca to claim your spot. Participants are expected to attend all 8 weeks of the course!

What’s a MOOC? According to mooc.org, “Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are free online courses available for anyone to enroll. MOOCs provide an affordable and flexible way to learn new skills, advance your career and deliver quality educational experiences at scale.”
