This MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) is offered in partnership with the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre (SLCC). The 8-week course is Indigenous Canada, offered by the University of Alberta. This course explores key issues facing Indigenous peoples today from a historical and critical perspective, highlighting national and local Indigenous-settler relations.

Participants will meet once a week at the SLCC for a two-hour session, where we’ll watch a video provided by the professors and then spend the remainder of the session discussing what we learned.

This course is free to attend, but space is very limited. Registration opens on October 2, so call 604-935-8435 or email to claim your spot. Participants are expected to attend all 8 weeks of the course!

Please note: there is no meeting on October 24, but you are highly encouraged to attend the One Book One Corridor discussion of The Marrow Thieves that afternoon!

What’s a MOOC? According to, “Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are free online courses available for anyone to enroll. MOOCs provide an affordable and flexible way to learn new skills, advance your career and deliver quality educational experiences at scale.”
