
Essential Skills for Hospitality, Service and Tourism (Certificate/Diploma)

An event every 4 weeks that begins at 9:00am on Monday, repeating until June 15, 2020

Travel and work anywhere in the world by becoming qualified for a career in these fields. Jobs in hospitality and tourism are growing and employers value applicants for jobs who have training and international work experience, both of which you get in our programs.
These two programs equip students with knowledge and a highly versatile and practical skill set for their career in the tourism, hospitality and/or customer service industry. Upon completion of this program the student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to apply essential skills and knowledge related to:
* Canada; National Culture and Cross Cultural Communication including: Skills working with different cultures, establishing first impressions, and skills related to service industry standards.
* Customer Service, Sales and Marketing including: Public speaking skills, problem solving skills, applying marketing techniques.
* Travel, Tourism and Adaption including: Taking orders, planning for meetings, handing special needs, writing effective communication.
* Managing events, attractions and e-travel including: Research skills, organizing events, delivering presentations and time management skills.
* Tourism, Trends & Impacts including: Analyzing performance, setting personal and career related goals, workshop planning.
* Tourism Based Businesses and Workplace Communications including: Negotiation skills, management skills, interviewing and feedback.

Diploma in Essential Skills for Hospitality, Service and Tourism
* 48 weeks total (24 study weeks + 24 weeks of co-op work placement)
* 20 lessons/week of in-class study
* Monthly start dates
* Option to work part-time for all 48 weeks
* Study Permit is required for all 48 weeks of study and Work Permit is required for co-op work placement only.
Certificate in Essential Skills for Hospitality, Service and Tourism
* 26 weeks total (24 study weeks + 2 weeks Capstone Project*)
* 20 lessons/week of in-class study
* Monthly start dates
* Option to work part-time while studying for all 26 weeks
* Only Study Permit required (part – time work rights given on study permit)
