Chainsaw Handling & Safety Course

This 1 day 8 hour chainsaw handling and safety course in Whistler is a must for anyone who uses a chainsaw at work or in their back yard! Participants will learn how to safely handle a chainsaw, starting with a classroom session before heading into the field for practical exercises.

Student Requirements: Fit to operate 20 pound chainsaw, Work boots – safety toe if possible, Water, Lunch
Note: Course refunds up to April 18 are subject to a $20 cancellation fee. After April 18 refunds are not possible.
A minimum number of 6 participants are required to run this course.
Should the minimum number not be met by midnight on April 21, a full refund will be provided to registered participants.

About the Instructor: John Courchesne is an Energy Safety Canada, ESC, trained chainsaw instructor who has been teaching chainsaw safety for 10 years. He is a BC certified faller, teaches the Energy Safety Canada, ESC falling course, and conducts faller evaluations. He started out in the forest industry 40 years ago as a landing bucker and started falling in the mid 80s, add 10 summers of brushing and spacing gives him over 30,000 hours of chainsaw experience.
